Telangana Government to Hold Anti-Drug Pledge Programme for Students on School Reopening

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has extended an invitation to Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla to participate in a major student assembly scheduled for June 12, coinciding with the reopening of schools across Telangana. The occasion will feature an anti-drug pledge initiative aimed at youth in the state.
The Chief Minister conveyed the invitation during a meeting with the Governor at Lok Bhavan. At the gathering, students will commit to abstaining from tobacco, alcohol, and narcotic substances while being encouraged to uphold their responsibilities as citizens.
The anti-drug awareness programme emerged following the Governor's recommendation to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy that students participate in a statewide drive against substance abuse. The Telangana government subsequently decided to organize the large-scale student assembly to advance this objective.
State officials have indicated that the initiative seeks to educate students regarding the detrimental consequences of drug abuse and substance addiction. By aligning the programme with the June 12 school reopening date, the government aims to reach a wide cross-section of the student population across the state.
