CM Revanth Reddy Demands Accountability from Bandi Sanjay in Son's Case

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has publicly challenged Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar to directly address the allegations involving his son, Bandi Bageerath, during remarks made at the Way2News Conclave 2026 in Hyderabad on Friday.
Reddy characterized the matter as raising serious ethical questions and insisted that the Union Minister must provide a public response. He stated that Bandi Bageerath has been implicated in a case concerning the alleged sexual harassment of a minor.
"Bandi Sanjay should step up and offer an explanation. Furthermore, he needs to take his son to the police station and surrender him," the Chief Minister declared, emphasizing that the accused must cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation rather than evade responsibility.
The case remains under active police investigation, with five dedicated teams currently working on the matter. Reddy noted that police initially visited Bandi Sanjay's residence to serve notices before subsequently visiting his brother-in-law's house as part of their investigative procedures.
Highlighting his dual role as both Chief Minister and Home Minister, Reddy underscored the state's commitment to impartial treatment of all citizens. "There are no exceptions for anyone, whether they are from the film industry or politics," he stated, making clear that official position or public prominence would not shield individuals from legal scrutiny.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the investigation required meticulous attention given that it involved the welfare and future of children. He disclosed that police are currently examining two birth certificates connected to the girl at the centre of the case.
Reddy warned that police would enforce strict measures against any accused who failed to comply with investigative notices. He assured that the state government would pursue legal consequences if the accused were ultimately found culpable, reaffirming the administration's commitment to upholding the rule of law.
