Telangana Placed on Alert as Torrential Downpours Sweep Across State

Authorities across Telangana have activated emergency weather alerts following a dramatic shift in atmospheric conditions that brought intense rainfall to multiple regions across the state.

The sudden deluge struck Hyderabad after the midnight hours, drenching neighborhoods including Serilingampally, Gachibowli, Miyapur, Madhapur, RC Puram, Kukatpally, Manikonda, Khajaguda, Shamshabad and Rajendranagar. The precipitation persisted for approximately two hours across numerous localities before beginning to subside.

Weather experts indicated that while the severity of the rainfall would gradually diminish, scattered showers are anticipated to persist through the early morning period. Additionally, meteorological forecasts point to the likelihood of thunderstorms accompanied by electrical activity in areas including Shamshabad, Rajendranagar, LB Nagar, Saroornagar and Chandrayangutta.

Residents in Shamshabad, Rajendranagar, Kothur, Chevella, Moinabad and Shadnagar have been advised to exercise heightened caution, as intense thunderstorms pose the risk of sudden inundation in topographically lower regions. Authorities have recommended that people remain sheltered indoors and refrain from unnecessary movement during the adverse weather period.

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert covering portions of Telangana, cautioning of substantial rainfall expected in the coming hours. Districts including Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Siddipet and Mahabubnagar have been placed on heightened alert status.

The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has projected that multiple districts will experience thunderstorms with electrical discharges and wind gusts ranging between 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. An orange alert has been issued for Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Mahabubabad, Mahabubnagar and Nagarkurnool districts.

Forecasts suggest that light to moderate rainfall may continue across Telangana throughout the next three days. Authorities have urged the public to remain updated on weather developments and adhere to guidance provided by local administrative bodies. Precipitation is expected to persist across various parts of the state in the coming period.
