Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao has charged three major political parties—Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samithi, and AIMIM—with misleading citizens of Hyderabad for electoral advantage.

The remarks came during his participation in the BJP's "Rythu Gosa – BJP Bharosa" yatra in Kukatpally on Tuesday. Speaking to media personnel, Ramchander Rao contended that the proposed division of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is designed to consolidate AIMIM's political standing in the city.

He further asserted that the ruling administration is making policy decisions driven by political calculations rather than considerations of public interest.

Water Crisis and Service Failures

The BJP leader took aim at the state government's management of Hyderabad's water infrastructure, characterizing it as inadequate. According to Ramchander Rao, numerous neighbourhoods are experiencing severe water shortages, with supplies reaching residents only once every three to four days. This situation has compelled many households to resort to purchasing water from private tanker operators.

Industrial Policy Concerns

Ramchander Rao also targeted the government's HILT policy, alleging that officials are converting industrial zones designated for manufacturing into residential developments to serve real estate investors. He contended that the government has neglected to properly evaluate how these policy shifts will affect employment and economic livelihoods in the region.

The BJP leader characterized the policy framework as facilitating a "real estate scam," suggesting that decision-makers are prioritizing property sector interests over broader economic considerations.

Vision for City Development

Positioning the BJP as a viable option for Hyderabad's future growth, Ramchander Rao highlighted central government programmes under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration. He specifically referenced initiatives such as Smart City and AMRUT as catalysts that could position Hyderabad as a world-class metropolitan centre.

These initiatives, he suggested, could drive transformative development in the city ahead of the forthcoming GHMC elections.
