Technology Must Prioritize Purpose Over Capability, Says InfoVision's Global Delivery Head

The true measure of technology today is not its capacity but its purpose, according to Girish Hirde, Global Delivery Head at InfoVision.

Speaking on National Technology Day, Hirde outlined a vision where technological advancement serves a defined direction rather than existing as an end in itself. "Intelligence without direction only amplifies noise, while intelligence guided by intent reshapes industries," he stated, highlighting the distinction between unfocused innovation and purposeful development.

Hirde characterized artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data analytics as tools that have evolved beyond their traditional role in driving efficiency. These technologies now function as instruments of judgment, shaping how organizations evaluate risk, identify opportunities, and chart their growth trajectories.

A critical shift, according to Hirde, involves prioritizing disciplined questioning before rushing toward technological solutions. Rather than accelerating the pace of implementation, enterprises should focus on formulating better questions that address their core challenges.

Looking ahead, Hirde advocated for building technological systems that embody three key principles: decisions that can be traced and understood, outcomes that remain predictable and manageable, and value that delivers undeniable business impact.
