PVR INOX and FanCode Screen El Clásico Live Across 30 Indian Cinemas

India's premier cinema chain and leading digital sports platform have joined forces to deliver one of football's most anticipated rivalries directly to theatre audiences nationwide.
The collaboration between PVR INOX Limited and FanCode will see FC Barcelona take on Real Madrid in a high-stakes La Liga encounter broadcast live across cinema halls. The match, scheduled for Sunday, May 11 at 12:30 AM IST, will be screened simultaneously at 30 venues spread across 14 cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Kochi, and Kolkata.
The initiative aims to transform traditional cinema spaces into vibrant fan zones by harnessing advanced projection technology, immersive sound systems, and the collective energy of supporters gathered to watch the contest unfold. This approach seeks to replicate the intensity and scale of a stadium experience within theatrical environments.
The upcoming clash carries significant implications, with Barcelona currently positioned at the top of the La Liga table and seeking to clinch the championship, while Real Madrid arrives with aspirations of derailing their rivals' title ambitions. The encounter will feature several world-class players, including Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, Raphinha, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, and Robert Lewandowski.
Ticket pricing has been set at a minimum of ₹199, making the experience accessible to a broad audience. Bookings can be completed through the PVR INOX mobile application, its website, or the BookMyShow platform.
Yannick Colaco, Co-founder of FanCode, commented on the partnership: "We're thrilled to partner with PVR INOX to offer football fans across the country an opportunity to experience El Clásico in a theatre near them. This unique collaboration keeps fans at the centre of the experience, and that's what makes it truly special."
Gautam Dutta, CEO – Revenue and Operations at PVR INOX Limited, stated: "We are excited to partner with FanCode to bring El Clásico live to our cinemas across India. Football and entertainment are two powerful passions that unite audiences, and this association gives fans an opportunity to experience one of the world's most iconic sporting rivalries together on the big screen. At PVR INOX, we remain committed to redefining out-of-home entertainment by bringing world-class sporting spectacles closer to fans."
The venture represents a significant development in how premium sporting events are being consumed in India, blending digital broadcasting capabilities with theatrical exhibition to create novel engagement opportunities. As the boundaries between sports coverage and entertainment continue to blur, such initiatives may establish a template for how Indian audiences access major global sporting occasions in the coming years.
