Telangana Extends Sub-Registrar Office Hours Across 15 Centres

Telangana's Housing, Revenue and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has announced a significant expansion of sub-registrar office operations, with 15 centres across the state set to remain open for extended hours beginning May 12.

The decision comes in response to a sharp spike in property registrations triggered by the State Cabinet's recent revision of land values and rationalisation of prices across select regions. The extended schedule will see these offices operate from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, replacing their previous timings to accommodate the growing volume of transactions.

The 15 offices receiving extended hours are located in Champapet, Saroornagar, Vanasthalipuram, Gandipet, Maheshwaram, Farooqnagar, Shadnagar, Ranga Reddy Rural, LB Nagar, Serilingampally, Sangareddy, Ghatkesar, Nalgonda, Patancheru and Quthbullapur.

Minister Reddy has directed officials to ensure seamless service delivery and instructed them to increase the number of appointment slots available for registrations. He has also tasked authorities with identifying additional sub-registrar offices experiencing high demand and extending their hours where warranted.

Coordination between sub-registrar and Tahsildar offices, where agricultural land registrations are processed, has been prioritised. The government aims to enhance transparency, efficiency and citizen convenience throughout the registration framework.

State Inspector General of Registrations Rajiv Gandhi Hanumantu has been tasked with implementing streamlined procedures to manage the heightened workload effectively. Officials have been instructed to ensure smooth implementation from May 12 onwards to prevent delays and crowding at registration centres.

The initiative reflects the government's commitment to improving citizen services while handling the increased registration volume efficiently.
