Hyderabad Government Inaugurates Integrated Sub-Registrar Complex in Banjara Hills, Announces Major Urban Housing Initiative

Hyderabad's Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy oversaw the foundation stone ceremony for an integrated sub-registrar office complex in Banjara Hills on Saturday, emphasizing the administration's push to make government services more accessible to citizens.
Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Mohammad Azharuddin joined Ponguleti at the event. Speaking to attendees, the Minister highlighted ongoing administrative reforms designed to streamline service delivery and bring essential government functions to the people more effectively.
In a significant policy announcement, Ponguleti reaffirmed the government's focus on housing the urban poor. The administration plans to construct modern Indiramma houses within the constituencies where eligible recipients currently live, rather than relocating beneficiaries elsewhere.
The housing scheme will unfold in two phases. During the first phase, construction of one lakh houses will commence in the CURE area, followed by another one lakh houses in the subsequent phase. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to formally launch the programme. Officials expect the first phase to be completed within twelve months.
The new integrated sub-registrar offices will consolidate registration, survey, and associated administrative services at a single location, improving efficiency and reducing bureaucratic friction. Beyond the Banjara Hills project, the government is simultaneously upgrading 13 sub-registrar offices within the three municipal corporation zones, adopting corporate operational standards.
Private developers will undertake construction of these facilities without requiring state government expenditure. Phoenix, a reputed construction firm, will complete the Banjara Hills complex—a 30,000-square-foot facility—in the coming months. The building will house the SR Nagar, Banjara Hills, and Golconda sub-registrar offices, along with the DIG office and the Registrar of Chits, Golconda.
Beyond administrative improvements, Ponguleti noted the project would generate employment and business opportunities in the locality. He also instructed officials to enable twice-yearly prayers for members of the Muslim community who have used the site for religious observance over many decades.
Banjara Hills MLA Danam Nagender presided over the programme. MP Sunil Yadav, MLC Addanki Dayakar, MLA Naveen Yadav, and Stamps and Registration Department Special Secretary Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu attended the proceedings.
