Telangana's Housing Minister Pushes Acceleration of Affordable Housing and Infrastructure Development

Hyderabad — Telangana's Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy held a review meeting at the Secretariat on Saturday to assess progress on housing and infrastructure development initiatives across the state.
During the meeting, the Minister called for faster implementation of affordable housing schemes targeting lower-income urban residents. He underscored the importance of expediting construction work under the Quality Urban Affordable Residences (QUAR) programme, which aims to provide 500 houses in the first phase within each of the state's 26 Assembly constituencies.
Ponguleti issued instructions to the Revenue and Housing departments to streamline land acquisition and tender procedures to avoid unnecessary delays in project execution.
The review also covered the status of permanent government infrastructure being constructed throughout Telangana. These facilities comprise 107 Tahsildar offices, two Deputy Inspector General offices, four District Sub-Registrar offices, and 52 Sub-Registrar offices.
The Minister emphasized that all newly constructed government buildings will adhere to a standardized architectural design while incorporating contemporary public facilities. He highlighted plans to integrate solar-powered parking areas into the infrastructure projects as part of the state's commitment to sustainable development and improved civic amenities.
Housing Secretary V. P. Gautham and Inspector General of Stamps and Registration Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, along with other senior officials, participated in the Saturday review session.
