Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has responded sharply to former minister T Harish Rao over his recent remarks concerning the Future City project, escalating political tensions in the state.

Addressing Harish Rao's statements made from the United States about halting the Future City initiative, Ponguleti questioned the former minister's credibility and political standing. The minister voiced his response through social media platform X, suggesting that Harish Rao's own position within the BRS party remains uncertain.

Ponguleti raised questions about whether Harish Rao had entered into any agreements with individuals in the United States regarding Future City lands. He also drew comparisons with the previous administration's track record, pointing out that the BRS government under K Chandrashekar Rao failed to complete even a single Metro station during its decade in power.

The minister emphasised that the current Congress administration is constructing an entirely new city for Telangana's future development. He contrasted this with what he characterised as the priorities of the BRS-led regime, alleging that the KCR family concentrated on building farmhouses rather than pursuing state-level development projects.

Beyond the Future City project, Ponguleti accused BRS leadership of obstructing other key initiatives, including the Musi rejuvenation programme and industrial development plans at Lagcherla. He also claimed that opposition figures have attempted to block employment generation schemes for young people.

Expressing confidence in Congress's electoral prospects, Ponguleti asserted that the government would construct a Future City capable of garnering national recognition. He further suggested that BRS leaders themselves were undermining Harish Rao's political prospects.

"BRS has no future, but Future City has no competition," the minister stated, encapsulating his message that the opposition party lacks direction while the development project represents an unmatched initiative for the state.
