Hyderabad Court Convicts Delivery Executive in Minor's Stalking Case, Awards Compensation

A 22-year-old delivery executive has been convicted and sentenced to three years imprisonment by a Fast Track Special POCSO Court at Rajendranagar in connection with stalking and sexual harassment of a minor girl in Attapur.

The court imposed a fine of Rs. 3,000 on the accused, identified as Thokali Suresh, while granting the victim compensation of Rs. 1 lakh.

The case traces back to September 2021, when the minor's mother filed a complaint with Attapur Police, prompting investigators to register and probe the matter. The court determined that Suresh, employed as a delivery executive, had engaged in stalking and sexual harassment of the young girl.

Hyderabad Police credited the conviction to coordinated efforts between investigating officers, prosecutors, and the Bharosa Centre, which provided ongoing counselling and support services to the victim and her family throughout the judicial proceedings.

The investigation benefited from the contributions of retired Sub-Inspector Sevya Nayak and Station House Officer K. Nageshwar Rao. Special Public Prosecutor Venkateshwar Reddy, alongside legal counsellors T. Dhruti Choudhury and A. Chandu, presented the case before the court.

The Women Safety Wing maintained oversight of the case from start to finish. DCP Women Safety Dr. Lavanya NJP and ACP Women Safety Prasanna Lakshmi supervised the proceedings, with Bharosa Centre officials coordinating victim support measures throughout the trial.

Police officials emphasized that the successful resolution stemmed from sustained collaboration between investigators, prosecutors, and victim-support services in ensuring the case reached a conclusive outcome.
