Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Sexual Assault of Minor in Hyderabad

A Fast Track Special Court in L.B. Nagar, Hyderabad, has sentenced a 25-year-old labourer to two decades of rigorous imprisonment on charges of kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor. The court imposed an additional fine of ₹20,000 and directed the payment of ₹1 lakh in compensation to the survivor.

Saadangi Venkatesh, also known as Sadula Venkatesh, was convicted in connection with the kidnapping and repeated sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl from Raviryala village in Ranga Reddy district. The crime was first reported in February 2020.

The girl went missing on February 10, 2020, prompting her family to file a report with police. What began as a missing person investigation led authorities to locate the teenager and uncover the circumstances of her abduction and assault. The accused was subsequently arrested and charged under provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The conviction was secured following examination of evidence by the Fast Track Special Court. The case was originally registered by Pahadishareef Police. Authorities credited the successful prosecution to coordinated efforts among investigating officers, public prosecutors, and court officials involved in handling the matter.
