Pendulo Marks Mother's Day With Curated Evening of Cocktails, Live Sitar, and Fusion Cuisine

Motherhood possesses its own distinctive character—layered, deliberate, and profoundly meaningful. This Mother's Day, the New Delhi establishment Pendulo is creating an occasion designed to encourage reflection and connection through its offering titled "An Evening, Curated for Her."

The experience unfolds in Pendulo's intimate tasting room, bringing together carefully considered dining, craft cocktails, and the gentle presence of live sitar music. The focus is on intentionality rather than excess, with each element thoughtfully arranged so that the mothers in attendance feel genuinely honoured in a manner that feels authentic.

The centrepiece of the evening is the Cocktail Sway tasting—a four-course progression where beverages set the tone for the accompanying dishes. The menu traverses Indian and Mexican culinary traditions, moving from brighter, more vibrant flavours toward deeper, more soothing ones as the evening progresses.

The pairings showcase creative combinations: Litti Picante paired with Masa Medu Vadai or Naga Pork Chaat; Pahadi Mezcal Sour with Lamb Barbacoa Dhokla; Gulkand Cacao Old Fashioned with Gunpowder Spiced Mushroom Empanada; and Rasmalai Caliente with Coorgi Asada Octopus. Each pairing has been developed to feel seamless, where flavours complement rather than compete.

A live sitar accompanies the meal, its performance woven subtly through the evening with Latin influences that mirror the menu's cultural fusion. Rather than demanding attention, the music creates an ambient backdrop that allows conversation and connection to flourish.

Sahil Baweja, speaking about the concept, noted: "At Pendulo, we've always believed that food carries emotion. For Mother's Day, we wanted to create something that feels easy and meaningful. An evening where people can sit a little longer, talk a little more, and just be present."
