Hyderabad's police force has rejected the Janasena Party's request to hold the Telangana Nav Nirman Sabha in the city on June 2, coinciding with Telangana Formation Day. The decision came on Monday after officials evaluated the application in light of prevailing security circumstances and recent developments affecting both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Pawan Kalyan, who serves as Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and heads the Janasena Party, was slated to be the principal speaker at the gathering. The party had undertaken substantial groundwork to facilitate the event.

Police authorities cited security considerations and the significance of official statehood commemorations as reasons for denying the permission. This outcome has stalled the party's initiative to conduct the assembly in Hyderabad.

In response to the setback, Janasena leadership has begun pursuing alternative remedies through the judicial system. The party has already filed a petition with the Telangana High Court seeking clearance for the event. Legal observers anticipate the court will take up the matter in the coming days.

The proposed gathering has drawn opposition from multiple political quarters. Congress leaders, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) representatives, and various Telangana-based civic organisations have voiced their objections and cautioned the Janasena against proceeding with the event.

The matter has emerged as a significant political development as Telangana Formation Day approaches. The High Court's ruling will ultimately decide whether the party can proceed with organising the event as initially planned.
