Hyderabad: Telangana's Government Chief Whip in the Legislative Council Patnam Mahender Reddy has expressed confidence that Future City will emerge as a premier global investment destination, positioning the state prominently on the international economic stage.

Speaking at a district-level programme held Friday at the Integrated District Offices Complex in Ranga Reddy district, Mahender Reddy underscored the administration's dual focus on development and welfare initiatives. The event was part of the broader 99-day Praja Palana action plan, which emphasises participatory governance to address public concerns directly.

Prior to the formal proceedings, Mahender Reddy inaugurated a free medical camp and joined residents for blood pressure screenings. The gathering commenced with the Telangana State Anthem followed by a reading of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's message.

Mahender Reddy characterised the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika programme as instrumental in helping the government deliver welfare schemes while maintaining direct engagement with citizens on their grievances. He highlighted substantial progress in Ranga Reddy district over the preceding two years, citing tangible welfare outcomes.

The administration distributed ₹722 crore through the Rythu Bharosa scheme to approximately 2.97 lakh farmers across the district. Under the Rythu Bima programme, authorities allocated ₹367 crore to 735 farming families. Additionally, officials sanctioned 16,050 Indiramma houses in non-urban areas and released ₹22 crore for the housing initiative.

Welfare benefits extended across multiple schemes, with the government issuing over one lakh ration cards that serve nearly 3.52 lakh individuals. The administration disbursed pensions to 1.91 lakh beneficiaries through the Aasara scheme, while Indiramma sarees reached 2.93 lakh women. Under the free bus travel programme for women, the government expended ₹977 crore, reflected in the issuance of 203 crore tickets.

Addressing concerns surrounding Future City, Mahender Reddy dismissed allegations as unfounded, reaffirming that the project will soon establish itself as a globally recognised investment centre.

Ranga Reddy District Collector C. Narayana Reddy presented a detailed overview of welfare scheme implementation and development activities conducted since March 6 under the Praja Palana framework. The Collector noted that officials were expediting welfare initiatives and infrastructure projects as part of the 99-day action plan, with review meetings conducted across ten sectors at village, mandal, constituency, and district tiers.

Transparent allocation of two-bedroom houses through lottery systems has been prioritised, with eligible families also accessing 200 units of complimentary electricity via the Gruha Jyothi scheme. Women Self Help Groups are receiving financial backing through the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme to support entrepreneurial ventures, while ration card issuance continues systematically across districts.

Procurement centres are facilitating farmers' access to support prices for agricultural output. Farmers cultivating fine variety paddy are receiving an additional ₹500 bonus beyond the Minimum Support Price.

Officials from various departments presented departmental activities during the meeting. Challa Narasimha Reddy reiterated the government's commitment to welfare and the advancement of disadvantaged sections of society.
