Two arrested in Patancheru cargo driver's murder case

Patancheru police have apprehended two individuals in connection with the murder of a cargo auto driver whose remains were discovered in an open plotting area adjacent to Candiidus International School.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Baindla Naveen, 24, a hotel businessman based in Chaitanya Nagar, Patancheru, and R. Prameela, 27, who resides near Isnapur Cross Road in Patancheru mandal.
The victim, Shekar Rayigalla, worked as a cargo auto driver and lived in Isnapur village with his family. His brother, Yesudas, filed a complaint on May 14, 2026, reporting his death.
According to investigators, Naveen and the deceased had known each other for approximately four years. Naveen supplied tea and tiffin services to workers at a warehouse facility in IDA Patancheru where Rayigalla was employed as a goods auto driver. During this period, Naveen became acquainted with Prameela, the deceased's wife, and the two subsequently engaged in an extramarital relationship.
Police stated that Naveen provided financial assistance to Prameela during her seven-month pregnancy and frequently visited their residence. When Rayigalla discovered the affair, he allegedly quarreled with his wife and confronted Naveen repeatedly. Following these escalating tensions, Naveen purportedly decided to eliminate the deceased.
On May 12, 2026, Naveen invited Rayigalla to an isolated open plot behind the school to consume alcohol. During the drinking session, a dispute erupted concerning unpaid debts and mistreatment of Prameela. Police allege that Naveen attacked the heavily intoxicated Rayigalla with a stone, resulting in his death. Naveen subsequently informed Prameela of the killing.
Police recovered one scooter and three mobile phones during the arrests. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chintamaneni Srinivas, IPS, DCP of Serilingampally Zone, and N. Uday Reddy, Additional DCP, with Inspector G. Vinayak Reddy and Patancheru police station staff executing the arrests. The Cyberabad Police Commissioner commended the Patancheru police team for their work in resolving the case.
