Hyderabad Public School Honours Padma Shri Recipient Dr. G. Venkat Rao for Medical Excellence

Hyderabad: A special recognition ceremony was held by The Hyderabad Public School Society to celebrate one of its most accomplished alumni, Dr. G. Venkat Rao, following his recent conferment of the prestigious Padma Shri award by the Government of India for his exceptional work in medicine and healthcare.

The event marked the institution's recognition of Dr. Rao's remarkable trajectory from student to eminent medical professional. Graduating from The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur in 1976, Dr. Rao has established himself as a respected figure in India's medical landscape through his pioneering contributions to advanced gastrointestinal and oncological surgery.

Currently serving as Director of AIG Hospitals and the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Dr. Rao leads the departments of Surgical Gastroenterology, GI Oncology, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Robotic Surgery, and Transplantation Services. His career has earned him recognition both nationally and internationally for his work in these specialized surgical fields.

Addressing the gathering, Gusti J Noria, President of The Hyderabad Public School Society, emphasized the significance of Dr. Rao's accomplishment for the institution. "Dr. G.
