Owaisi Urges Postponement of Osmania University Exams Clashing with Bakrid

Hyderabad — Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Member of Parliament representing Hyderabad, has made a formal appeal to the Telangana government to shift Osmania University's examination schedule away from May 28, the date of Bakrid celebrations.

In his request directed to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the state Chief Secretary, Owaisi highlighted that conducting assessments on Eid al-Adha would disadvantage students who observe the religious festival.

The university has scheduled multiple undergraduate examinations for that date across various disciplines and academic levels. These include BCom papers in Business Statistics (fourth semester) and Accounting Standards and Corporate Governance (sixth semester). Additionally, BSc Honours examinations in Computer Science specializing in Big Data (fourth semester) and Optimization Techniques (sixth semester) are slated for the same day.

Other examinations planned for May 28 encompass BSc Biomedical Science (fourth semester), BA under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in Mathematics (sixth semester), and BSW (CBCS) in Social Work Methodology III (fourth semester).

Owaisi emphasized that students observing Bakrid would encounter considerable challenges if the current examination timetable remains unchanged. He expressed confidence that university authorities would give serious consideration to revising the schedule and announcing alternative dates for these assessments.
