Gandhi Hospital Opens New Organ Transplant Centre and Mother Milk Bank

Telangana's Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha formally opened the doors to two new specialized facilities at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad—an organ transplant centre and a mother milk bank.
During the inauguration ceremony, hospital officials walked the minister through the infrastructure and capabilities of both units. Medical staff provided detailed explanations of the operational protocols and specialized care services that the new centre would provide.
The establishment of the organ transplant centre represents a significant expansion of advanced healthcare offerings within the government hospital network.
At the event, the minister recognized Dr. Madhusudan, head of the gastroenterology department at Osmania Hospital, for performing a successful liver transplant on an 18-month-old child at that institution.
The minister also took time to meet with a family who had recently welcomed twin babies born through IVF treatment, offering his congratulations to the parents.
Hospital administrators emphasized that these new facilities would broaden access to cutting-edge treatments and specialized medical services across government hospitals throughout Telangana, strengthening the healthcare infrastructure available to residents of the state.
