JAMKHANDI, KARNATAKA: Bagalkot University marked a historic milestone by holding its inaugural convocation ceremony at the Darbar Hall on the BLDE Association campus in Jamkhandi on Friday, where Dr. Mahesh Bellad was honoured with an Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa).

Dr. Bellad, who serves as Chairperson, Whole-time Director, and Co-founder of Online Instruments (India) Limited, received the prestigious award in recognition of his significant impact on technology advancement across India and internationally. His work has focused particularly on interactive display systems, digital learning platforms, and audiovisual integration technologies.

The company he co-founded has become instrumental in modernizing educational institutions, business settings, and digital communication infrastructure by making technology more accessible and practical. Under his leadership, Online Instruments has worked to narrow the divide between cutting-edge technological innovation and widespread educational access.

The convocation drew several prominent figures, most notably Shri Nambi Narayanan, the distinguished scientist from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The presence of both Dr. Bellad and the renowned aerospace engineer on the same platform represented a convergence of technological innovation and entrepreneurial achievement.

Upon accepting the honour, Dr. Bellad reflected on the recognition and its significance. "I am deeply humbled to receive this recognition from Bagalkot University during such a historic convocation," he said. "Technology is only as valuable as the people it empowers. Sharing this stage with a pioneer like Shri Nambi Narayanan is a distinct privilege, and it reinforces our focus at Online Instruments: building practical, scalable solutions for the next generation. I share this honour with my entire team and the partners who have driven our vision forward for the past twenty years."

The award acknowledges Dr. Bellad's track record of visionary leadership, entrepreneurial success, and commitment to fostering progress through technological innovation.
