Hyderabad: The Endowments Department is pressing ahead with final arrangements for the Saraswati Pushkaralu 2026 festival, with officials conducting detailed inspections of infrastructure across multiple sites in the district.
Endowments Department Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer oversaw the review of preparations at Kaleshwaram, accompanied by District Collector Rahul Sharma and Superintendent of Police Sirishetty Sankirth. The inspection team examined parking infrastructure, temporary facilities, and accommodation structures at Saraswati Ghat, while also surveying parking zones and road works in surrounding areas including Maddulapalli, Poosukupalli, Balijapur and near the Godavari bridge.
Ramaiyer instructed teams to prioritise completion of museum construction by May 18 in accordance with Vastu guidelines. Authorities anticipate substantial crowds during the festival, which runs from May 21 to June 1.
The administration has developed a dedicated traffic management strategy featuring distinct pathways for RTC buses and private vehicles. Parking facilities spanning approximately 260 acres have been arranged across 24 locations throughout the district.
Essential services including potable water, power supply and medical care will be available at all parking zones. Water shelter stations are being positioned at 500-metre intervals for visitor convenience. Near Saraswati Ghat, the administration will establish pagodas, commercial outlets and recreational zones for pilgrims.
Around 50 retail spaces have been reserved for displaying and selling products from local small-scale enterprises. The district has also allocated dedicated structures for pindapradan rituals and established a 20-bed medical facility to manage health emergencies.
The Kanchi seer will conduct the Pushkara snanam ceremony at Triveni Sangam at 5:43 am on May 21. The Governor of Telangana is scheduled to participate in the ceremonial dip the same day.
