Nissan Introduces Twin-Cylinder CNG Kit for GRAVITE, Preserving 7-Seater Capability

Nissan Motor India has rolled out a government-sanctioned CNG retrofitment option for the All-New GRAVITE, marking the first dual-cylinder system in its class. The innovation allows customers to convert their vehicles to run on CNG while preserving complete seven-seater configuration and interior flexibility.
The retrofitment kit carries an introductory price of INR 82,999 and is accessible across 16 states through Nissan's authorized dealer network. The system was developed, manufactured and quality-tested by Motozen, with installation available through Nissan dealers. A three-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty on kit components is provided through a third-party provider.
Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President and President for Middle East, KSA, CIS and India at Nissan and Infiniti, emphasized India's significance as a strategic market. "Our objective is delivering products and solutions that prove relevant, accessible and future-ready, matching customer requirements. The GRAVITE CNG represents meaningful progress toward this goal, extending a practical option to buyers wanting family-oriented space, daily mobility flexibility, and reduced operating expenses in key CNG regions," he stated.
Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, highlighted the system's engineering approach. "Following the strong market response to the Magnite CNG, we are introducing the segment's inaugural twin-cylinder solution for the All-New GRAVITE. This addresses customers needing the practicality, adaptability and comfort inherent to a seven-seater MPV for regular family transportation. The government-approved kit strengthens this proposition by delivering economical operation while preserving complete seven-seater flexibility and capability through intelligent twin-cylinder architecture, ensuring zero compromise on passenger space or practical usability," Vatsa explained.
The CNG system incorporates several technical specifications designed to balance performance with practicality. These include a Sequential BS6.2-compliant CNG kit, an ICAT-approved mechanism ensuring certified safety and reliability, heavy-duty cylinder construction measuring 8.1 millimeters thick for extended durability, and optimized Dynamic Advancer Technology calibrated for the GRAVITE platform. Additional features encompass a fuel inlet positioned beneath the fuel door, factory-standard finish integration with properly engineered mounting hardware, a configured rear seating arrangement preserving passenger comfort, and seamless switching between petrol and CNG modes.
For high-usage consumers such as families managing regular commutes, school transportation and frequent intercity journeys, the GRAVITE CNG delivers substantial cost advantages relative to petrol operation, rendering seven-seater ownership more economically viable in regions with established CNG infrastructure. The conversion simultaneously supports environmental objectives through reduced emissions, particularly beneficial in congested urban zones and high-traffic corridors, enabling households to select a more environmentally responsible transportation option without sacrificing convenience or capacity.
The retrofitment kit became available beginning today through Nissan's authorized dealer locations nationwide.
