National Lok Adalat Set for June 20 to Resolve Civil and Criminal Cases Across Telangana

The Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA) has announced a National Lok Adalat scheduled for June 20, aimed at expediting the resolution of civil and compoundable criminal matters throughout the state.

The initiative will engage judicial institutions across all tiers, from the High Court down to taluq-level courts. Both pre-litigation disputes and cases already pending in court systems will fall within the scope of the programme.

The Chief Justice, serving as Patron-in-Chief of TSLSA, and the Executive Chairman of the authority will oversee the proceedings.

Participants have the flexibility to engage either in person or through digital means. The TSLSA emphasizes that all services provided through the Lok Adalat are entirely free of charge.

For cases already in litigation, the court will reimburse filing fees to parties who successfully reach settlements through the Lok Adalat mechanism. Awards granted through Lok Adalat proceedings are final and binding—parties cannot subsequently file appeals challenging these decisions.

The primary objective of the initiative is to foster mutually acceptable resolutions between disputing parties, thereby alleviating the caseload burden on the judicial system. The TSLSA has urged the public to leverage this alternative dispute resolution mechanism to avoid protracted court battles.

Those seeking to resolve either pending cases or matters not yet formally filed may contact their respective District Legal Services Authorities. Alternatively, individuals can approach their local Mandal Legal Services Committee or the nearest court for guidance and support.

The authority has confirmed that all necessary preparations for the June 20 National Lok Adalat have been completed.
