National BC Dal Pushes Telangana for Enhanced Backward Class Welfare Initiatives

Hyderabad: The National BC Dal presented a formal memorandum to Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on Saturday, pressing for reinforced welfare initiatives targeting Backward Classes and enhanced socio-economic advancement across BC communities.
The submission outlined several key demands, including rigorous implementation of the 42 percent BC reservation quota, mandatory enforcement of the BC Sub-Plan framework, bolstering of the BC Finance Corporation, and settlement of outstanding scholarship and fee reimbursement amounts owed to BC students.
Additional requests encompassed upgrading BC residential hostels and Gurukul educational institutions, expanding pathways for skill training and employment prospects, safeguarding customary BC livelihoods and trades, and ensuring equitable BC representation in government positions filled through nomination processes.
Proposed Oversight Mechanism
The memorandum recommended establishing a quarterly monitoring committee chaired by the Chief Secretary to track implementation progress of BC welfare schemes and guarantee timely delivery of government benefits.
National BC Dal president Dundra Kumaraswamy emphasized that BC communities have contributed substantially to Telangana's growth trajectory. He underscored the importance of translating welfare programmes into concrete action while protecting the constitutional guarantees afforded to these communities.
