Telangana's BJP leadership has launched a sharp critique of the Congress administration's handling of grain procurement operations, with party president N Ramchander Rao alleging systemic failures affecting farmers across the state.

Speaking to journalists on Monday while leading the "Raithu Gosa – BJP Bharosa" Yatra through Parigi in Vikarabad district, Rao highlighted what he described as widespread neglect at procurement facilities. He pointed to the absence of essential infrastructure at procurement centres, despite repeated government promises to address such shortcomings.

The BJP delegation visited the Parigi Agricultural Procurement Centre at Kulkacharla, where party leaders engaged directly with farmers to document their grievances. Rao alleged that substantial quantities of paddy lay unprocessed at various centres while farmers faced extended delays in selling their harvest.

According to the BJP president, farmers encountered acute shortages of critical supplies including tarpaulins and gunny bags. He further contended that slow weighing operations and transportation bottlenecks compounded difficulties at procurement facilities.

Rao claimed that some cultivators endured waiting periods of 10 to 15 days before successfully selling their produce at procurement centres. He also suggested that government officials accelerated activities upon learning of the BJP delegation's impending arrival, with grain bags allegedly being transferred to rice mills in early morning hours to present an appearance of operational efficiency.

BJP representatives asserted that farmers reported significant hardship stemming from both the delays and the extended timeframe required to receive payment for their crops.

The three-day "Raithu Gosa – BJP Bharosa" initiative aims to document procurement-related challenges and amplify farmer concerns across multiple districts. The campaign draws participation from several senior party figures, including MPs D.K. Aruna, Etela Rajender, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and Raghunandan Rao, alongside various MLAs, MLCs and party officials.

The BJP indicated that the campaign would expand to additional districts to gather comprehensive feedback from farming communities impacted by procurement complications.
