Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a comprehensive package of development projects valued at Rs 9,377 crore for Telangana on Sunday, underscoring the state's significance as both a national and international economic hub.

Speaking at an event held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre in Madhapur, Modi emphasized that these initiatives would bolster the state's manufacturing sector, strengthen its infrastructure backbone, and generate employment opportunities across various segments.

The programme brought together Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, and Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar. Through virtual inaugurations and foundation stone ceremonies, Modi formally launched multiple industrial, transportation, and energy ventures across the state.

Among the flagship projects is the Integrated Industrial Smart City at Zaheerabad, a Rs 2,360.54 crore development that will provide state-of-the-art infrastructure and contemporary industrial facilities. The PM MITRA Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal, with an investment of Rs 1,695.54 crore, is expected to generate significant employment, particularly for women workers.

Infrastructure development received substantial focus, with the expansion of the Gudeballur-Mahabubnagar segment of National Highway 167 receiving Rs 3,175 crore in funding. The railway sector saw major commitments, including the 118-km Kazipet-Vijayawada multi-tracking initiative at Rs 1,243 crore and the 21-km Kazipet Rail and Rail Bypass line project valued at Rs 292 crore.

Energy infrastructure also featured prominently with the inauguration of the Greenfield POL terminal at Malakapur, constructed at Rs 611 crore, which is poised to strengthen the state's energy distribution capabilities.

Modi highlighted that the state's National Highway network has expanded significantly, doubling in size over the past 11 years. He also noted that railway projects totalling approximately Rs 50,000 crore are currently in various stages of implementation. The state now operates five Vande Bharat trains and six Amrit Bharat trains, reflecting the modernization of its rail transport system.

Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and other senior officials were present at the event.
