BonV Aero's Air Hans Drone Unveiled for Commercial Logistics Operations

New Delhi — BonV Aero, an Odisha-based manufacturer of heavy-lift drones with an established track record supporting Indian Armed Forces, formally unveiled its Air Hans multi-modular UAV at the Logistics Shakti 2026 conference held at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi. The unveiling was conducted by Shri Ramdas Athawale, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The event signifies a pivotal shift in India's commercial drone sector, as BonV Aero transitions from its core defence operations into business-to-business commercial markets.
According to Satyabrata Satapathy, Co-Founder and CEO of BonV Aero, the Air Hans is already undergoing deployment in an active pilot initiative focused on stringing electrical transmission lines for power infrastructure. He described the project as demonstrating the platform's precision, payload handling, and readiness for industrial-scale operations.
The company's expansion into civilian applications encompasses last-mile medical deliveries, warehouse logistics support, and infrastructure assistance. BonV Aero is currently seeking regulatory approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to operationalise these commercial services across the country.
Ankur Mittal, Co-Founder of IPV, an investor in BonV Aero, highlighted the company's distinctive capability to execute high-altitude logistics operations where competitors have not yet established presence. "This is a team that doesn't just build technology, they prove it," Mittal stated, emphasising the substantial commercial opportunity in the sector.
BonV Aero further strengthened its commercial positioning by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Logistics Shakti. The partnership aims to identify new business opportunities, advance logistics technology innovation, and explore emerging applications across multiple industries.
Amit Shankdhar, Co-Founder of Logistics Shakti, commented that the collaboration "opens exciting avenues for business growth and brings cutting-edge innovation into the logistics ecosystem."
The Bhubaneswar-based company is now actively recruiting industry partners as it scales its commercial operations. BonV Aero specialises in heavy-lift UAV systems and applies the same engineering standards and operational precision that characterise its defence work to its emerging civilian business divisions.
