Hyderabad: In a collaborative effort between law enforcement and medical authorities, six mentally challenged individuals have been relocated to a welfare facility in Yapral for comprehensive care and rehabilitation services.

The individuals had been receiving treatment at Gandhi Hospital but were unable to manage their daily needs independently. According to officials, they also lacked family support systems necessary for their wellbeing, making professional rehabilitation assistance essential.

The Chilkalguda police department and Gandhi Hospital management jointly executed the transfer to Second Chance Mission Hospital in Yapral as part of their humanitarian outreach programme. Authorities confirmed that they obtained proper consent from the elder brother of one of the women before proceeding with her placement at the facility.

With five of the six individuals still unidentified, the police have made a public appeal requesting assistance in locating their relatives. Officials stated that tracing efforts remain ongoing, with the aim of establishing long-term support arrangements and facilitating family reunification where possible.

Authorities have emphasised their commitment to ensuring that all six individuals receive sustained care and support during their stay at the welfare facility.
