Medchal Police Bust Drug Smuggling Operation, Arrest Two from Maharashtra

Hyderabad authorities have dismantled a drug trafficking operation in Medchal, leading to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of a substantial quantity of cannabis.

On June 25, police intercepted the suspects near Dhruva College Road at ORR Exit No. 6 following a tip-off. The operation resulted in the confiscation of 5.849 kg of ganja, which was discovered hidden in a black bag. Officers also seized a mobile phone that the accused allegedly used for coordinating their illicit activities.

The two men taken into custody have been identified as Sachin Santosh Jadav, also known as Nitin and Akash, aged 24, and Rajesh Madhav Chaudhari, 22. Both are labourers hailing from Jalna district in Maharashtra.

According to preliminary investigations, the accused obtained the contraband from Odisha and were in the process of distributing it illegally in the Medchal area. The suspects were subsequently produced before a magistrate following their arrest.

The Medchal Police have registered a formal case in connection with the seizure. Authorities are currently working to identify the complete supply network and locate additional individuals involved in the narcotics trafficking operation. The investigation is ongoing as officials attempt to trace the sources and distribution channels of the seized contraband.
