MANUU Opens Law Programme Applications for 2026-27, Deadline Set for May 1

Applications are now being accepted by Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) for law programmes in the 2026-27 academic session. Prospective candidates can apply for positions in LLB, BA LLB, LLM, and PhD courses offered through the university's Law School. The application submission deadline has been set for May 1, 2026.

According to Prof Tabrez Ahmad, Dean of the Law School, the institution provides a comprehensive range of legal education options. These include a five-year integrated BA LLB degree, a three-year LLB programme, a one-year LLM course, and doctoral research opportunities. Two newly introduced postgraduate diploma courses—Alternative Dispute Resolution and Cyber Law and Digital Governance—are also available this academic year.

MANUU's Hyderabad campus will accommodate 60 students in the BA LLB programme and an equal number in the three-year LLB course. For the LLM programme, 30 seats are available at the Hyderabad campus, with another 30 positions at the Darbhanga campus in Bihar. Each of the two new diploma courses offers 20 seats at both the Hyderabad and Darbhanga locations. The PhD programme at Hyderabad will admit 10 candidates.

Applicants are required to have studied Urdu as either their medium of instruction or as a language subject during Class 10, Intermediate, or Graduation levels. The university has set June 10 as the final date for merit-based admissions decisions.

The Law School's establishment represents a significant development for Urdu-medium legal education in the region. MANUU launched its LLB programme three years ago, marking the resumption of such education after Osmania University discontinued its Urdu-medium law courses 74 years prior.

Both the Hyderabad and Darbhanga campuses provide hostel facilities for enrolled students.
