BRS Spokesperson Manne Krishank Freed After 16 Days in Sangareddy Jail

Manne Krishank, a spokesperson for the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, left Sangareddy Central Jail at Kandi on Saturday morning following a 16-day detention period. Upon his release, he addressed journalists while wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the message "Back to Question."

Krishank expressed his gratitude to the BRS party leadership for their backing during his time in custody and commended the party's legal representatives for their efforts in handling his case.

The BRS spokesperson levelled accusations of political persecution, asserting that his arrest and the cases filed against him were motivated by his vocal criticism of the Congress administration. He maintained that such legal action would not deter him from continuing to raise concerns about the ruling government.

According to Krishank, authorities branded him a habitual offender after he questioned supposed irregularities in a mobile phone procurement scheme intended for Anganwadi workers. He also highlighted his allegations concerning mining activities associated with Raghava Constructions in the Kothwalguda area, claiming his detention was intended to silence his exposé of what he characterised as corrupt practices.

Krishank further criticised the Congress government for prioritising action against BRS leaders rather than addressing public safety and law and order concerns across the state. He cited recent incidents of gunfire at an automated teller machine in Hyderabad and at a jewellery establishment in Karimnagar as examples of security lapses.

The BRS leader also pointed to security inadequacies affecting senior police personnel at their official residences, suggesting a broader breakdown in the state's security apparatus.

Adding to his allegations, Krishank expressed suspicion that the Revanth Reddy government was conducting surveillance of BRS leadership through telephone monitoring. He claimed that during his interrogation, police questioned him extensively about his media contacts, family members, and their locations, which he suggested corroborated earlier assertions made by BRS Deputy Floor Leader T. Harish Rao regarding alleged phone surveillance by the Congress government.
