KCR's Return to Politics Driven by Concerns Over Kavitha's Rise, Says Congress Leader

Hyderabad: The Telugu Congress Party Committee president Mahesh Goud has asserted that the former chief minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao was drawn back into political engagement by concerns surrounding TRS president Kalvakuntla Kavitha's political maneuvers.
Goud contended that Kavitha's strategic political moves prompted KCR to emerge from the sidelines and resume his presence in public affairs. The Congress leader went on to express gratitude toward Kavitha for inadvertently facilitating KCR's return to the political spotlight, though he suggested the former chief minister's reappearance was primarily motivated by a desire to maintain his political standing.
In separate remarks, Goud leveled criticism at KCR regarding his opposition to HYDRAA's enforcement actions targeting encroachments on Hyderabad's lakes. The TPCC chief asserted that multiple BRS leaders had unlawfully occupied numerous water bodies in the city's periphery, and consequently, the agency's crackdown was generating discomfort within the party.
Goud questioned KCR's rationale for opposing the clearance operations, urging the former chief minister to familiarize himself with HYDRAA's regulatory framework before voicing objections. He emphasized that the Congress administration remained committed to fulfilling the commitments outlined in its electoral manifesto.
Addressing matters of governance, Goud indicated that the state government would imminently announce appointments to nominated positions, noting that the selection process had already been finalized. He clarified, however, that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy would retain sole authority over decisions concerning any expansion of the cabinet.
