May 13, 2026

Larsen & Toubro's Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business has won a package of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts from major clients across the Middle East to develop extra-high voltage substations.

The contract scope encompasses the construction of a single 380 kV substation alongside two 132 kV substations. These installations are designed to bolster power availability to major consumption hubs and relieve congestion in electrical grids, helping utilities keep pace with surging electricity demand.

L&T has been awarded these contracts on a complete turnkey basis, requiring delivery within compressed project timelines.

The PT&D vertical operates as a significant EPC contractor in the power infrastructure sector, delivering comprehensive, technology-enabled solutions aimed at expanding access to sustainable and dependable electricity. The division provides full-spectrum EPC capabilities alongside associated smart energy technologies, spanning smart transmission and distribution network development through to end-user electrification initiatives. Its client base includes power utilities, renewable energy producers, and industrial and infrastructure entities spread across 30 nations, encompassing the SAARC, ASEAN, Middle East, African, North American, and Commonwealth of Independent States regions.

L&T itself is a USD 32 billion Indian multinational corporation specialising in EPC projects, advanced manufacturing, products, and services across numerous sectors and global markets. The company's emphasis on artificial intelligence and technological advancement, combined with its customer-centric philosophy and unwavering commitment to quality standards, has solidified its competitive position across its primary business segments throughout its eight-decade operational history.
