LPU School of Fashion Unveils New Programmes Alongside Showcase of Student Designs

Jalandhar: Lovely Professional University's School of Fashion Design marked another milestone with ECLAT ELEVE 16.0, an exhibition showcasing the work of graduating students and demonstrating the institution's focus on blending creativity with market-ready skills.
The event featured collections drawing inspiration from resilience, sustainability, heritage, identity, and transformation. Student designers presented their work through themed sequences including Threads of Resilience, Roots Reimagined, Echoes of Heritage, and Realms of Transformation, combining cultural influences with forward-thinking design approaches.
Anju Modi, the Indian costume designer known for her work on films including Bajirao Mastani and Ramleela, attended the showcase and commended the students' technical proficiency and creative confidence. Modi praised LPU's integration of industry practices within its academic structure and the hands-on learning opportunities available to students. She conducted a workshop and masterclass during her visit, addressing garment storytelling, craftsmanship, detailing techniques, and international fashion developments.
Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, speaking at the event, underscored the need for fashion professionals who merge artistic vision with technical knowledge, business acumen, and consumer awareness. She noted that LPU's educational model prioritizes practical experience, industry partnerships, and real-world application as fundamental components.
The university's EduRevolution framework enables students to earn academic credits through live industry projects, internships, freelance engagements, and brand collaborations, creating pathways between classroom learning and professional practice.
Building on this momentum, the School of Fashion Design has introduced two new programmes: a two-year Master's degree in Fashion Management and a four-year Bachelor's degree in Fashion Technology. These courses aim to integrate fashion with business functions including merchandising, production, manufacturing, marketing, and retail operations, preparing graduates for opportunities across the global fashion sector.
These additions join LPU's existing Bachelor's degree in Design (Fashion Design) and Master's degree in Fashion Design, all of which emphasize the integration of creative development, technical skills, and industry collaboration.
