Monsoon System May Bring Relief to Telugu States as Low-Pressure Develops Over Bay of Bengal

Telangana and Andhra Pradesh may experience significant rainfall in the coming weeks as meteorological agencies track a developing low-pressure system in the southwest Bay of Bengal.
According to weather specialists, a surface circulation is expected to form over the region in the near term, with projections suggesting it could intensify into a full low-pressure area around May 11 and 12. ISRO's weather monitoring division has been tracking these developments closely.
Should the system strengthen as anticipated, both states could see widespread precipitation across multiple districts. Such rainfall would provide much-needed relief from the oppressive summer temperatures currently gripping the region.
Weather authorities noted that the trough effect from this system has already begun moderating conditions in parts of both states. In the immediate term, scattered light to moderate showers accompanied by thunderstorms are likely in isolated pockets over the next two days.
Officials cautioned that if the low-pressure system gains additional intensity during the second week of May, heavy rainfall could occur across affected areas. The anticipated precipitation would substantially ease the severe heat conditions that have persisted throughout the region.
The Meteorological Department continues to maintain surveillance over Bay of Bengal conditions and is releasing updated forecasts as the situation evolves.
