L'Oréal Paris Celebrates Three Decades at Cannes with Stellar Indian Representation

L'Oréal Paris, the globe's leading beauty brand, continues its enduring partnership with the Festival de Cannes as the Official Beauty Partner for the 29th year running. The festival, taking place from May 12th through May 23rd, 2026, will once again unite cinema, culture, and beauty in a celebration of women's voices and global representation.
This year marks the sixth iteration of the L'Oréal Paris Lights on Women's Worth Award, with actress Gillian Anderson serving as juror for the recognition programme.
India's presence at this year's festival is anchored by three L'Oréal Paris ambassadors: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, and Aditi Rao Hydari. Each brings her own interpretation of confidence, drive, and distinctiveness to the prestigious event, underscoring the expanding visibility of Indian creative talent on the international arena while reinforcing L'Oréal Paris' commitment to elevating women who demonstrate both accomplishment and genuineness.
Alia Bhatt returns to Cannes in her capacity as Global Ambassador for the beauty brand, marking her second consecutive appearance at the festival. "Returning to Cannes with L'Oréal Paris for the second time feels truly special," the actor and entrepreneur remarked. "The experience last year was unforgettable, and this year promises to be an even greater celebration. The atmosphere here—one rooted in sisterhood and lifting up female voices—is remarkable, and I'm privileged to be part of this mission with a brand so dedicated to championing women's empowerment and worth."
Aditi Rao Hydari's participation this year brings fresh dimension to India's international narrative, embodying aspiration, sophistication, and self-assured expression that transcends the film industry. "I'm truly honoured to represent L'Oréal Paris at Cannes," Rao Hydari shared. "Real beauty, in my view, means celebrating yourself authentically and embracing your uniqueness with conviction. Cannes represents an unparalleled global platform, and collaborating with a brand that has championed women's empowerment is deeply significant to me. I'm convinced that every woman should experience being valued, acknowledged, and recognised for her worth."
Dario Zizzi, General Manager of L'Oréal Paris India, highlighted the significance of the milestone. "Twenty-nine years of presence at Cannes has demonstrated the remarkable capacity of this stage to amplify voices that merit global recognition. This year carries special weight—having Indian creativity and beauty showcased on the world's most prestigious red carpet demonstrates the progress we've achieved collectively. For L'Oréal Paris, Cannes transcends mere glamour; it represents our dedication to championing women who are reshaping the landscape of culture, cinema and beauty according to their own vision."
In a strategic move, L'Oréal Paris has engaged with Nykaa, India's prominent beauty e-commerce platform, as its "Beauty Partner" within the country. This collaboration enables Nykaa to bring the Cannes experience to Indian audiences through curated access to signature red carpet aesthetics from the festival.
The festival will feature an extensive roster of international ambassadors, including newly appointed global ambassador Charles Leclerc, alongside Gillian Anderson, Simone Ashley, Jane Fonda, Ariana Greenblatt, Aja Naomi King, Eva Longoria, Andie MacDowell, Carlos Sainz Jr., and Bebe Vio.
Harold James, L'Oréal Paris' Global Make-Up Artist, will oversee the brand's beauty vision throughout the festival, blending contemporary glamour with French-inspired aesthetics through L'Oréal Paris cosmetics.
As L'Oréal Paris advances its foundational philosophy of "Because You're Worth It," the brand's Cannes engagement this year extends beyond cosmetics to honour uniqueness, aspiration, and the profound influence of women's narratives on the world stage.
