Apollo Hospitals Jubilee Hills Hosts International ENT Conference with Live Surgical Demonstrations

Hyderabad's Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, has brought together a significant gathering of ear, nose and throat specialists for an advanced medical conference that combines training with charitable surgical care.
The second edition of the International 360° ENT & Skull Base Conference drew more than 250 ENT surgeons, academic faculty and postgraduate trainees from across India and internationally. The event was inaugurated by Ramchandra J, Chief Operating Officer of Apollo Hospitals Jubilee Hills, and Dr. Ravi Kiran, the facility's Medical Director.
A distinctive feature of the conference was the broadcasting of 12 complex skull base surgeries performed at no cost for economically disadvantaged patients. These live demonstrations allowed attending physicians to witness surgical planning, real-time clinical decision-making and sophisticated treatment methodologies as they unfolded in the operating theatre.
"Live surgical demonstrations offer invaluable practical exposure to the management of complex ENT and skull base disorders, emergency situations and minimally invasive procedures, helping participants strengthen their clinical and operative skills," hospital officials noted.
The gathering was jointly organised by Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills and the AOI Hyderabad Chapter. Its agenda encompassed recent developments in head and neck surgery, skull base interventions and techniques for restoring hearing function.
Participants highlighted the rising incidence of various ENT conditions affecting the population. These include chronic sinus infections, recurring headaches, nasal obstruction, epistaxis, hearing impairment, tinnitus, vertigo, vocal changes, dysphagia, snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. Medical professionals at the conference emphasised that this growing disease burden necessitates a larger cadre of specially trained ENT practitioners.
Dr. Vemuru Tejaswi, an ENT surgeon at the hospital and the conference's organising chairman, stressed the importance of advanced training programmes in preparing surgeons to address intricate conditions of the ear, nose and throat as well as tumours, infections and neurological disorders affecting the skull base region.
The department performs a range of sophisticated interventions, Dr. Tejaswi explained, including endoscopic skull base procedures, sinus operations, hearing restoration treatments, cochlear implant placement, sleep apnoea interventions and paediatric ENT surgery.
Leading the scientific sessions were internationally recognised specialists: Dr. Prepageran Narayanan from Malaysia, Dr. Narayana Jayashankar based in Mumbai, Dr. Satish Jain from Jaipur and Dr. Sanjeev Mohanty from Chennai. These experts presented insights on technological innovations and clinically challenging cases.
The conference was coordinated by a team including Dr. Tejasvi Vemuru, Dr. Sreepathy Sandeep, Dr. Manideep, Dr. Nayanika Reddy and Dr. Archana Rangisetty, who oversaw the event's execution and facilitated professional exchange among attendees.
