Telangana and Union Leaders Honour Coal Workers on Miners' Day

Hyderabad — Top officials across Telangana and the Union government have marked Coal Miners' Day by recognising the contributions of workers in the coal sector.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy offered his best wishes to coal mine workers and their families, acknowledging the sacrifices they make through their tireless commitment to powering the nation. The Chief Minister emphasised that his administration views worker welfare as a fundamental responsibility, pledging continued efforts to enhance their living and working conditions.
Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy similarly extended greetings to coal miners and their families on the occasion. He underscored how the resilience and dedication displayed by coal sector workers form the foundation of India's energy independence and industrial advancement.
Kishan Reddy reaffirmed the central government's commitment to safeguarding the safety, wellbeing and dignity of coal mine workers. He noted that the Centre remains focused on bolstering the coal sector as part of efforts to build a self-reliant India.
Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy also joined in marking the day, characterising coal miners as devoted professionals who labour in challenging underground conditions to illuminate communities and drive the state's economic progress.
Coal Miners' Day serves as an occasion to recognise the indispensable work performed by those employed in coal mining, drawing attention to their role in sustaining the nation's industrial and energy infrastructure.
