BJP Cannot Form Government in Telangana, Says CPI MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao

Hyderabad: At the Telangana State Council meeting held Monday at Makhdoom Bhavan, CPI MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao launched a forceful critique of the BJP, characterizing the party as fundamentally grounded in religious polarization and communal politics.

While addressing the gathering, he rejected assertions by BJP functionaries regarding the party's capacity to expand its footprint across Telangana. Sambasiva Rao acknowledged that the BJP could secure a limited number of legislative seats in the state, but maintained firmly that the party remains incapable of achieving electoral dominance or forming a government in Telangana.

The CPI leader further pointed to mounting public discontent directed at administrations functioning at both state and national levels.

Electoral Plans and Campaign Strategy

Sambasiva Rao instructed CPI workers to heighten their engagement on matters affecting ordinary citizens. He presented a comprehensive roadmap for the party's approach to forthcoming elections, stating that if a coalition arrangement materializes, the CPI should position itself to contest across a minimum of five constituencies. Should such an alliance fail to materialize, the party would pursue contesting no fewer than 15 constituencies independently.

The party has zeroed in on 40 constituencies throughout Telangana where it perceives significant organizational potential. From August 6 through August 15, the CPI intends to execute specialized padayatras—grassroots marches—across these identified areas. These mobilization efforts will concentrate on exposing administrative shortcomings at both the union and state governments, alongside highlighting district-level grievances.

Upcoming Programs

The CPI leader announced a demonstration scheduled for June 4 protesting what he characterized as the persecution of Professor Nageshwar. Additionally, the party plans to host an event on June 15 addressing matters connected to the revision of electoral voter lists. Sambasiva Rao further revealed that the CPI would conduct a "Chalo Delhi" program on September 28.
