Kuehne+Nagel Opens Temperature-Controlled Facility in Hyderabad to Strengthen Pharma Logistics

Kuehne+Nagel has strengthened its healthcare logistics presence in India by commissioning a temperature-controlled airfreight cross dock facility in Hyderabad. The new infrastructure is designed to meet the rising demand for specialised logistics solutions capable of handling pharmaceutical and medical products with precision and compliance.
Hyderabad's significance as a pharmaceutical manufacturing centre makes it an ideal location for this investment. The city accounts for more than 40 per cent of India's active pharmaceutical ingredient and vaccine production, positioning it as a critical node in the country's drug manufacturing ecosystem. The facility's strategic placement within this hub enables efficient product handling and distribution while reducing distances to major customers and manufacturing operations.
The 248-square-metre facility incorporates multiple temperature-controlled zones to accommodate diverse healthcare shipment requirements. Storage areas maintain temperatures between +2°C and +8°C, as well as between +15°C and +25°C, ensuring pharmaceutical products remain within their specified conditions throughout handling. The infrastructure adheres to Kuehne+Nagel's HealthChain quality framework, guaranteeing GxP compliance across the healthcare supply chain.
With this launch, Kuehne+Nagel has now established two HealthChain-certified facilities across India. The company previously opened its Bengaluru Cool Zone facility in December 2025, expanding its certified network in the country.
Anish Kumar Jha, Managing Director of Kuehne+Nagel for India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, highlighted the strategic importance of the expansion. "This investment strengthens our healthcare logistics network in India and brings us closer to customers operating in one of the country's most important pharmaceutical hubs. By investing in specialised, HealthChain-certified infrastructure, we are supporting Indian healthcare companies as they grow and connect to global markets through compliant, temperature-controlled supply chains," he said.
