BRS Leader KTR Criticises Revanth Government Over Paddy Procurement, Land Disputes, and POCSO Matter

Hyderabad — The Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi's working president K. T. Rama Rao has mounted a forceful challenge to the state government, levelling serious allegations regarding agricultural procurement, land acquisition irregularities, and the handling of a sensitive criminal matter.

Speaking at Telangana Bhavan during a media interaction, KTR contended that the administration headed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has fundamentally failed to safeguard the welfare of Telangana's farming community. He pointed to delays at procurement facilities, where paddy stocks remain uncollected, prompting farmers to organise demonstrations across the state in protest.

According to KTR, procurement operations have progressed to merely 35 per cent of targeted levels. He cast doubt on government claims that half the procurement target has already been achieved, asserting that ministers are misrepresenting the actual figures. The BRS leader went further, challenging the Chief Minister to visit any settlement in Telangana and substantiate claims that four-fifths of procurement has been completed.

The political leader also turned attention to what he characterised as unlawful appropriation of land by Congress figures across various Telangana districts. KTR alleged that Congress MLA Vem Narender Reddy has claimed assigned lands in Kesamudram under the banner of "Bhu Harathi". Additionally, he asserted that associates close to the Chief Minister have obtained 90 acres of ceiling land in Shamshabad by exerting pressure on revenue department personnel. KTR indicated that the Anti-Corruption Bureau investigation brought this matter to light.

In a separate line of attack, KTR raised serious questions about the management of a POCSO case connected to Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar's son. The BRS leader alleged that the accused individual remained unapprehended for nine days following the complaint. He questioned the rationale behind police inaction during this period, particularly given that the allegations involved a minor. KTR further called for consequences to be imposed on BJP representatives and media outlets that he claimed disclosed the identity of the victim, contrary to legal protections for minors in such cases. He demanded the resignation of Bandi Sanjay in light of the incident.

KTR concluded his remarks by urging the Chief Minister to dissolve the state Assembly and request fresh elections. He reiterated that the BRS would persist in its opposition through both political channels and judicial proceedings, notwithstanding what he characterised as intimidation tactics from the current administration.
