BRS Leader KTR Criticizes Congress Government's Handling of Funeral Services for Poor Families

Hyderabad — The Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi's working president K.T. Rama Rao has launched a sharp critique of the Congress administration, citing an incident in which family members were forced to carry a deceased person on their shoulders due to inadequate public support systems.

KTR characterized the episode as emblematic of declining governance standards across Telangana. He contended that disadvantaged families are being denied even fundamental dignity in death under the current administration.

Drawing comparisons to the previous BRS administration, KTR highlighted that the K. Chandrashekar Rao government had introduced dedicated vehicles for transporting deceased individuals and provided financial assistance to poor households during funeral ceremonies. He framed this initiative as a demonstration of societal compassion and respect for human dignity.

In contrast, KTR asserted that conditions under the Congress government have become increasingly distressing for Telangana's population. He questioned the government's budgetary priorities, pointing out that substantial funds are allocated toward publicity initiatives, official meetings, tours, and helicopter travel, while essential emergency services remain inadequate.

The BRS leader accused the Congress administration of prioritizing political messaging and public relations over tackling genuine public hardship. He recalled that the former chief minister's vision centered on ensuring that economically disadvantaged families lived with dignity. According to KTR, citizens are now experiencing renewed suffering following the change in government.

KTR further emphasized that this situation extends beyond a single household, describing it as a troubling indicator of Telangana society's current state. He challenged whether public funds are being channeled primarily toward political campaigns and official travel while impoverished families struggle to afford basic funeral rites.
