BRS Leader Criticises Congress Government Over Delayed Crop Procurement

Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao has launched a sharp attack on the Congress administration, accusing it of failing to purchase agricultural produce in a timely manner and causing hardship to cultivators across the state.

On Monday, KTR inspected a Bengal gram procurement centre at Sadasivpet in Sangareddy district, where he met with farmers to understand their grievances. During these discussions, cultivators raised concerns about delayed government purchases and the difficulties being created by slow procurement operations.

Pledging solidarity with the farming community, KTR assured them that the BRS would mobilise support for their cause and champion their demands.

Speaking to journalists at the site, KTR contrasted the current situation with the tenure of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, highlighting how the previous administration ensured prompt disbursement of Rythu Bandhu payments to farmers. He alleged that the present Congress government has failed to implement unrestricted crop purchases and instead continues to burden cultivators.

KTR called on the government to procure paddy, sorghum, and Bengal gram at the minimum support price without further delay. He announced plans to escalate party activism in support of farmers throughout Telangana, instructing BRS leaders and cadres to visit procurement centres over the coming week and organise demonstrations against government inaction.

The BRS leader also directed party workers to lodge formal complaints with tahsildars and revenue divisional officers regarding procurement-related problems. He further urged party activists to raise questions on behalf of farmers across the state regarding government policies and implementation failures.
