Gen Z Leaders Gather at Street Cause Summit in Hyderabad as KTR Pledges Support

Hyderabad's youth leadership landscape received a boost as the "Street Cause x KTR: Shaping the Next Generation Leaders" summit drew more than 300 participants from over 50 colleges across the city. The gathering, organised by Street Cause—a student-founded NGO—brought together volunteers, coordinators and senior leaders for an intensive day of engagement and skill-building.
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao took centre stage to discuss critical themes including leadership, governance and youth-driven nation-building. In his address, he emphasised the importance of innovation and urged the assembled students to develop competencies in emerging fields, particularly Artificial Intelligence. His message centred on equipping the next generation with skills that will define their professional futures.
The summit's programme combined structured learning with interactive experiences designed to spark engagement. A mock Shark Tank-style pitch session allowed participants to present ideas in a competitive format, while a "Myth vs Fact" discussion tackled political misconceptions head-on. The energy in the room was amplified by a rap tribute performance that added cultural richness to the proceedings.
Street Cause, which now operates as a national-level NGO, has grown substantially since its establishment in 2009. The organisation currently maintains a volunteer base of over 4,000 active members and boasts an alumni network exceeding 45,000 individuals. Its footprint extends across multiple cities, reflecting its expansion beyond Hyderabad's initial boundaries.
Recognising the potential of the initiative, Rama Rao announced a financial commitment of Rs 17 lakh to support Street Cause's operations. Beyond monetary support, he agreed to take on an advisory role with the organisation. These commitments are intended to strengthen the institutional backing for youth-centred social programmes and enable the NGO to scale its existing initiatives further.
The summit also marked the unveiling of a new donation platform designed to broaden the organisation's fundraising capacity and widen its reach. Street Cause has documented the impact of its work across India, having touched the lives of more than 1.3 million individuals over the past 17 years. The organisation remains committed to its core mission: empowering young people to drive social transformation across the country.
