BRS Leaders Condemn Attack on Party Office in Karimnagar

Hyderabad: Senior Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) figures K.T. Rama Rao and Harish Rao have strongly objected to what they describe as an assault on the camp office of BRS MLA Gangula Kamalakar and the vehicle belonging to MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy in Karimnagar on Thursday.
KTR, the BRS working president, attributed the incident to BJP activists in a social media post. He alleged that supporters of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar breached the office premises, damaging both vehicles and office infrastructure.
The party leader took issue with the police response, suggesting authorities failed to intervene during the incident. He further characterized Bandi Sanjay as functioning as the "B-team" of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
KTR contended that the assault reflected the BJP's inability to address the substantive concerns raised by BRS leadership. He emphasized that a Union Minister of State for Home Affairs should not engage in conduct that undermines the rule of law and public order in the state.
The incident represents a breach of democratic norms, according to KTR, who called for official accountability regarding the alleged attack.
Harish Rao's Response and Concerns
Harish Rao voiced similar disapproval of the incident, raising questions about the state of law and order in Telangana. He noted that it was particularly troubling for such violence to occur in a constituency represented by a Union Minister of State for Home Affairs.
The senior BRS leader called for swift action against those implicated in the alleged assault. He also appealed to the state administration to strengthen law and order maintenance and safeguard both elected officials and party premises.
Harish Rao cautioned that continued incidents of this nature could push citizens to take matters into their own hands to defend democratic institutions.
The incident has intensified political tensions in Karimnagar, with both the BRS and BJP trading accusations of responsibility. Each party has leveled charges against the ruling establishment for its failure to prevent such violence.
