BRS Leader KTR Attacks CM Revanth Over "Sadistic Pleasure" Remark, Citing Governance Failures

Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi's working president K. T. Rama Rao launched a scathing critique of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday, condemning remarks that the BRS leader characterized as reflecting a troubling disregard for citizens' hardships.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, K. T. Rama Rao described the Chief Minister's statements as exposing a disturbing worldview. He contended that the Congress-led administration has remained unresponsive to escalating grievances among residents across the state during its two-and-a-half-year tenure.
"When the opposition brings these concerns to light, the Chief Minister finds pleasure in it—this reveals a deeply troubling mindset," K. T. Rama Rao remarked, adding that voters would ultimately render their judgment on such governance.
The BRS leader enumerated several areas where he alleged the government has faltered. He questioned the Chief Minister's accountability regarding 140 reported deaths among Gurukul students and pointed to inadequacies in the power distribution system. Additionally, K. T. Rama Rao criticized delays in distributing Rythu Bandhu agricultural support payments.
The agricultural sector emerged as a particular focus of his criticism. Paddy awaiting procurement sits exposed to weather on roadsides while the procurement process languishes, he noted. Farmers cultivating paddy, maize, and jowar have faced extended delays in crop sales, creating financial strain across rural communities.
On the education front, K. T. Rama Rao alleged that the fee reimbursement scheme—originally established by former Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy—has deteriorated under the current administration. Students face uncertainty as colleges withhold certificates and restrict their attendance over outstanding fee reimbursement dues, he said. A High Court directive permitting institutions to pursue dues directly from parents has further jeopardized students' futures, according to K. T. Rama Rao, who claimed the scheme functioned effectively during the BRS government's previous administration.
He alleged that procurement delays represent a deliberate strategy to avoid paying agricultural bonuses to farmers.
The remarks came during a political event in Kalwakurthy constituency, where leaders from various parties joined the BRS in K. T. Rama Rao's presence.
