BRS Leader Accuses Congress Government of Seizing Lands From Dalit and Tribal Families

Hyderabad: The BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao leveled serious charges against the Congress administration on Friday, claiming it is seizing assigned lands from Dalit and Tribal households for purported industrial projects while reneging on electoral commitments to safeguard vulnerable farmers.

Speaking at a BRS general body meeting in Parigi Assembly constituency, Rama Rao contended that land acquisitions are proceeding with the connivance of the local Congress legislator. He pledged that the BRS would furnish both legal and political assistance to impacted families should the government proceed with takeover of their lands without proper consent or adequate compensation.

The allegations touch upon the Lagacherla case, where Rama Rao claimed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has deliberately targeted Tribal populations resisting land seizures. He further asserted that law enforcement has registered baseless charges against residents and subjected detainees to mistreatment. The government has not issued a formal response to these accusations.

Beyond land concerns, Rama Rao broadened his criticism to encompass the Congress government's track record on social welfare initiatives. He maintained that the administration has neglected multiple pledges made during its election campaign, specifically citing unfulfilled commitments regarding Rythu Bharosa, pension disbursements, crop bonuses, financial aid for tenant cultivators, and assistance schemes for farm workers.

Rama Rao characterized these failures as deliberate deception of voters, accusing both the Congress party and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of misleading the electorate during the electoral process.
