KTR Demands CM Revanth Reddy Deliver on Congress Pledges Before Seeking Re-election

Hyderabad: In a pointed Sunday statement, Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president K.T. Rama Rao pressed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to fully execute Congress party election commitments before seeking voter mandates in upcoming elections.
KTR called for the Chief Minister to make a public commitment to contest future elections only after delivering on all campaign pledges made to Telangana voters.
The BRS leader contended that the government was diverting public focus through discussions around electricity meters for agricultural pump sets, when it should instead be addressing its unfulfilled electoral promises. He specifically highlighted outstanding commitments regarding housing under the Indiramma Housing Scheme, welfare guarantees, and other assurances presented to voters before the elections.
Farmers' DISCOM proposal draws fire from KTR
The opposition leader levelled sharp criticism at the proposed creation of a separate Farmers' DISCOM, asserting that the initiative posed risks to the existing 24-hour free electricity supply for farmers. KTR claimed the new utility structure would enable modifications to the current agricultural power distribution system.
Drawing parallels to statements made by Revanth Reddy during his time in opposition, KTR argued that the current proposal reflected a similar stance on agricultural electricity policy. "The real intention behind the Farmers' DISCOM is to dismantle the historic 24-hour free power supply introduced by KCR. The Congress government is trying to conceal its anti-farmer agenda while claiming that the initiative is intended to benefit farmers," he stated.
Characterising the proposed Farmers' DISCOM as detrimental to Telangana's agricultural sector, KTR called on both farmers and city residents to resist the proposal.
KTR further alleged that the Congress government had fallen short on delivering major poll commitments across multiple constituencies and demographic groups. He urged the public to maintain scrutiny of government initiatives and compare them against the promises made during campaigning.
