Pink flag embodies Telangana's resistance to injustice, KTR declares at BRS anniversary

Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi marked its formation day on Monday with a flag-hoisting ceremony at Telangana Bhavan, where Working President K. T. Rama Rao articulated the party's vision and criticized the incumbent administration.
During the event, party supporters chanted "Jai KCR" and "Jai Telangana" as KTR unfurled the party banner. In his remarks, he characterized the pink flag as a symbol of a population that emerged from prolonged suffering and injustice.
The BRS, according to KTR, represents an organization founded on sacrifice and commitment. He stressed that independent political authority remains essential for addressing persistent challenges confronting the state.
Tracing the party's trajectory, KTR recalled that party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao initiated the movement 25 years prior at Jaladrushyam. He credited KCR's 14-year campaign with bringing Telangana society together and securing statehood for the region.
Following its electoral victory, the party administered the state for ten years, during which KTR claimed comprehensive development occurred across multiple sectors. He contrasted this with the preceding two-and-a-half years under Congress administration, which he characterized as marked by poor governance.
KTR asserted that the BRS has consistently stood with marginalized communities in opposition to Congress policies. He maintained that the party possesses the capability to fulfill any mandate entrusted to it by voters.
Drawing on observations from academic K. Jayashankar, KTR emphasized that Telangana requires a distinct political identity. This perspective, he suggested, necessitates unified action against both Congress and the BJP.
The party must sustain momentum until KCR assumes the Chief Minister's office in 2028, KTR stated. He also acknowledged that party workers awaited guidance from KCR.
In closing, KTR extended gratitude to digital media activists, party volunteers, members of the press, creative professionals, public sector workers, and citizens for their ongoing support.
