BRS Leader Attacks Congress Over Telangana's Development Record and Unfulfilled Promises

Hyderabad: K.T. Rama Rao, working president of the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi, has launched a scathing critique of the Congress-led state government, asserting that the administration is dismantling development achievements from the previous BRS tenure and failing to honour electoral commitments.

Speaking at a gathering of party workers in Palair, located in Khammam district, on Wednesday, Rama Rao contended that Telangana's economic health is deteriorating while graft and commission-driven practices have become rampant under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's leadership.

The opposition leader charged that the current government has not safeguarded the developmental strides made over the preceding decade and has sidelined key growth initiatives.

Land Administration Under Fire

Rama Rao directed his ire at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, alleging mismanagement in land administration that is harming property holders throughout the state. He claimed that significant stretches of land have been placed under restrictions, imposing hardships on owners and called for improved accountability in how land matters are being managed.

The BRS leader also referenced Enforcement Directorate investigations at premises connected to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, questioning why the government and political establishment have remained silent on the outcomes of these probes.

Welfare Schemes in Question

Rama Rao turned his attention to the welfare commitments made by Congress during the electoral campaign. He raised concerns about the implementation status of schemes including Indiramma housing, aid for economically disadvantaged citizens, and other social security initiatives.

He further alleged shortcomings in delivering on pledges concerning Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, joblessness support, and pension programmes.

Defending Previous Government's Finances

Responding to criticism over borrowing during the BRS government's rule, Rama Rao maintained that those funds were channelled toward infrastructure development and welfare schemes. He called upon the Congress administration to release a comprehensive white paper outlining how borrowed funds have been utilised, arguing that transparency would enable citizens to determine whether developmental gains from the past ten years remain intact.
